Miles Smith can trace its origins to 1925. In 1936 we were incorporated as a Lloyd's Broker named Harding Anderson and Game Limited. In 1965 the company was acquired by RJ Miles and CS Smith and was renamed Miles Smith, Anderson and Game Limited. In 2000 Miles Smith regenerated under the leadership of Paul Chainey, who is still the Group CEO today.
We currently employ 220 staff across Miles Smith Insurance Group, 80 of whom work directly for Miles Smith Insurance Solutions. We are market leaders in arranging insurance solutions for businesses operating in high-risk and specialist industries. We are proud to have long-standing relationships with the UK's leading insurers, allowing us to negotiate exclusive terms and rates for our customers.

Senior Management Team
Paul has held a number of positions at Miles Smith and was responsible for the company's restructure in 2000 when he became Chief Executive Officer.
Paul is responsible for the Group's strategic direction, overall performance, fiduciary duties and is the principal contact for the FCA.
In 2002 Paul sold that business to Kerry London Limited and took up various positions on their main Board. In 2009 Paul joined Miles Smith Limited to head up the Retail Operation. As well as managing the organic growth, Paul has overseen acquisitions, the opening of a new office and the securing of Chartered status.
Paul has been married 38 years and has 2 grown up children. In his spare time he is a big sports fan, following football, cricket, rugby and playing golf.
In 2008, Ian moved over to the insurance company market and spent 10 years in a variety of sales, business development, marketing and broker relationship management roles for leading Lloyd’s syndicates.
Ian joined Miles Smith in 2018 to spearhead growth in the retail division and works alongside the senior management team on all areas of sales and development, introducer management, budgeting and business planning.
Ian is married with two daughters and in his spare time enjoys golf, music, the trials and tribulations of being a West Ham fan and avoiding as many shopping trips as possible!
